“Persian Party” – Was held on Friday, February 9, 2007 at 8:30PM-Midnight at Casablanca Hookah bar and restaurant. Over 60 members and friends showed up. We had DJ Infinity DJ for us, people dancing- we really got our name out.

 

Female dance group- (Team: Soulmaz, Rose, Behnaz, Bahareh, Arhezo, Risham, Naghmeh) March 4th tryouts with a preview for the Intercultural Festival for VCU. Actual performance is April 15th. On March 17th the Central Virginia Iranian American Society wants us to do the dance as well for their Norouz party. Other members can attend Norouz at the Sheraton Hotel Suite for 35 dollars (discounted from students- $50 dollars non- students and nonmembers). Dance teacher is Maryam, wants to do it at her place.

 

Coliseum Deli- March 1st at 6:30-8:30 ISF will meet to have dinner at the Coliseum Deli (A Middle Eastern deli) at 1335 W. Broad St.

 

Sizdeh Badar (13th day after the Iranian New Year) This is April first, we are going to celebrate by meeting in the commons and then carpooling to Byrd Park (Maymount) to picnic/hookah/throw out our sabzi (greens).

 

Farsi classes- Sundays Farideh Mirshahi- Will begin next semester when we have a budget and/or a place to hold it.

Persian Dance At VCU Intercultural Festival

PLEASE come Support LALEH! Our very own group of Persian dancers that performed at the Norouz party will be performing live at VCU Intercultural Festival at 12:50 pm April 15, 2007.

 

 

 

The VCU Intercultural Festival (Sunday, April 15th, 2007; 11am-6pm; University Student Commons Plaza) is a fun-filled day full of multicultural performances, food and merchant vendors, diverse student and community organizations displays, crafts, art, and games to celebrate the diversity at VCU and in the Richmond community. And Best of all it’s FREE! Come and have wonderful time and show your Persian SUPPORT!
